Addressing Insulin Resistance First
PCOS is heavily connected to insulin resistance. When body cells don't respond to insulin, glucose accumulates in the blood, signaling the ovaries to produce excess androgens (male hormones), leading to irregular cycles and acne.
The key to treatment is adopting a low-glycemic load diet. Choose carbohydrates that release sugar slowly into your bloodstream—like whole pulses, steel-cut oats, and bran-rich grains. Always pair your carbs with a protein source.
Seed Cycling & Anti-Inflammatory Spices
Integrating seed cycling can help regulate estrogen and progesterone ratios. Consume 1 tablespoon of raw pumpkin and flax seeds during the follicular phase (days 1-14 of your cycle), and 1 tablespoon of sesame and sunflower seeds during the luteal phase (days 15-28).
In addition, spices like cinnamon (dalchini) and fenugreek (methi seeds) have been clinically shown to support insulin receptor activity. Soak half a teaspoon of methi seeds in water overnight and drink it first thing in the morning.
